Nurturing Curiosity
Students in the Leahurst Junior School are immersed in an environment of caring where they are encouraged to ask questions, to master the fundamentals, and appreciate the rhythm of a classroom. Our students tell us that they most value being with others who are kind, curious and share their love of learning.

Character Development
Our “Be Kind” class focuses on friendship, reciprocity and resilience. Students are asked to consider the impact of their actions on others, to embrace humility and to be grateful. These threads are woven into the classroom, enrichment activities, and the outdoor education program. Developing self-confident and caring students is the goal at every stage at Leahurst College, and it all begins with our Junior School.
Academics
With a strong focus on developing outstanding fundamental skills, subject-specific teachers guide our students through challenging and engaging curricula. In addition to traditional core subjects, our Junior School students study Computer Science, Problem Solving and Strategic Thinking, Music and Visual Arts.
Teachers
Dedicated, highly motivated and enthusiastic teachers lead our classes where understanding and fun are at the core of learning. Teachers instruct in their subject of specialisation ensuring that each lesson is taught with passion and expertise.
Enrichment
The Junior School program is enriched in various ways: course material is taught at an enriched level, additional and unique units of study are included, and scheduled monthly enrichment activities allow for field trips, guest speakers and special events.
